Emma Elizabeth

Emma Elizabeth was born on the 30 Jul 1778 and was Christened with her sister Mary on 15 Oct 1778 in the cathedral.

On 23 May 1823 when she was 44 she married the Rev. Walter John Kerrick (BA Oxon 1791, MA 1795) who was ten years older. Rev Kerrick was a fellow of New College Oxford and in 1792 he was appointed at Salisbury Cathedral as Prebend of Alton Australia. The wedding took place at East Hendred and the Bishop’s Transcript shows the witnesses to include Mary Ann Wapshare who was Charles’ daughter born in 1804. He had became the Rector of Paulersbury in Northamptonshire in 1818.

Walter died on 31 Aug 1842 and I have not yet found a date for Emma’s death. However the Nimrod Index with extracts from the 1851 census lists a ‘Kerrish’ as head of household in Bishopstrow living with Francis Charlotte, Catherine Eleanor and Fanny and Kate from India. If this were Emma then she would have been 73.
